In Hiroshima, Japan ~G7 summit from 19-21 May 2023.

1. The Group of 7 Summit officially begins on May 19, 2023, in Hiroshima, Japan.
2. The G7 is a group of major industrialized countries that includes Canada, the French Republic,
   the German Federal Republic, the Italian Republic, the Japanese Government, the United Kingdom
   and the United States.
3. The purpose of the G7 is to engage in policy dialogue and coordination on global economic
   development, security and other important issues.
4. Topics to be discussed include global trade, security, US-China rivalry, and the
   current situation in Ukraine.
5. In addition to the countries that will attend the G7, Australia, Brazil and India,
   Indonesia and South
   Korea, as well as Vietnam, which all have important regional alliances in the midst
   of the Sino-U.S. dispute.
6. The summit will take place in Hiroshima, the city that was destroyed by the atom
   bomb in World War II.
7. The G7 began as a six-country group in 1975. Canada joined the group in 1976,
   bringing the total number of members to seven.
